"After a few years of trying various hdmi cables-like most of us,i was none the wiser. Sometimes a cheaper cable was terrible-sometimes an expensive cable great, sometimes very expensive cables didnt perform as well as cheaper cables. So i began a quest to determine what hdmi cables were truly excellent- After about 3 years i had a pretty good analysis-and the results shocked me- on one A/B comparison a £150 cable was thrashed by one costing £34, o.k. thrashed is too strong a word..:-) ..but it was beaten in overall picture performance. So i then assembled the best 6 hdmi cables i could find - irrespective of price. When i had this, I had a benchmark for quality. I then joined forces- after much searching, with a manufacturer who makes cables for some very exotic names. My brief was simple- make a better cable than the ones I had submitted for comparison- and use thicker cable.(so over spec..) The look was also important to me- I didn't just want it to perform to a high standard, I wanted it to look like it performed to a high standard. After 7 different manufactured samples and various tests, I settled on two. Moviemagic and Moviemagic Premium Pearl were born. Now,because I manufacture these cables -there are no dealer or distributor mark ups tripling the price, no expensive blister packaging (that just gets thrown away.) - but if there were? ..they would still be fantastic value! But there are not, and because of this my customers get a fantastic high end cable for a fraction of the real worth. There is of course a lot of nonsense talked about cables, and there will always be those that assume because a cable costs 5..10 times more..it MUST be better. I know this to NOT be the case,the reality is there is a point at which it is good enough when we talk digital cables, the real key is establishing that point.
